ZAO “Cominvest-AKMT” trading house was established to sell products manufactured by the plants of the Intersectional State Association “KOMMASh” situated in the cities of Arzamas, Kiev, Mtsensk and Turbov. This collaboration gave “AKMT” abbreviation in the company’s name.
For a decade, the “Trading House” was supplying utility and construction machinery manufactured by domestic companies. This period provided the company with important experience, solid reputation, and strong business relationships in Russia and the CIS.
A change in the company’s management resulted in a change of the activity profile: a usual trading house became a research and development, and commercial and analytical center.
Distribution contracts with leading European manufacturers of road machinery were signed to give the company the exclusive rights for the machinery and equipment supply to Russia.
Own manufacturing of road machinery was organized in Moscow. The first vacuum floor sweepers came off the assembly line, being mounted on the domestic KAMAZ chassis. The company mastered the semi knocked down assembly of attachments that were fabricated from components made by leading European companies.
A separate subdivision was set up in Saint-Petersburg. A subsidiary manufacturing equipment for road repairing SZAO “Cominvest-Alliance” was registered in the Republic of Belarus.
The Interdepartmental Military Commission of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation granted the company a status of a major supplier for the Russian Federation Air Force and a military index “O1”, for certain types of products manufactured by the company.
A network of regional representative offices for road machinery sales and servicing was established and began its work actively. The offices were located:
The representative office in the Siberian Federal District, OOO “Cominvest-Siberia”, started developing actively, with the territory of its activity extended to the Russian Far East, which was reflected in its name OOO “Cominvest-Siberia & Far East”; branches in Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok were set up.
Separate subdivisions of Cominvest-AKMT were set up in the cities of Samara, Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhny Novgorod.
OOO “Cominvest-Ural” set up a branch in Yekaterinburg.
The company became a shareholder of Tosno Mechanical Plant, OOO “Tomez”, manufacturing multipurpose road maintenance vehicles.
Representative offices were set up in Krasnodar (OOO “Cominvest South”), Murmansk (OOO “Cominvest-Murmansk”), in the Chechen Republic and the Republic of Ingushetia (OOO “TD Stroydormash-Caucasus”).
Separate subdivisions were set up in Kaliningrad, Ufa, Khabarovsk and Arkhangelsk.
In the Republic of Dagestan, a joint assembly plant manufacturing special-purpose machinery (dump trucks, multipurpose road maintenance vehicles, vacuum floor sweepers) was started together with OOO “Proizvodstvennoe Obyedinenie Dorozhno-Stroitelnoy Tekhniki”.
In Ukraine, a joint venture, OOO “Cominvest-Ukraine”, was set up.
In the Republic of Kazakhstan, a joint venture, TOO “Cominvest-Kazakhstan”, was established.
A joint venture, the Economic Association “AK TM”, was set up in Turkmenistan.
The following representative offices were set up: in Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova – OOO “Avto-Present”; in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan – TOO “Cominvest-Kazakhstan”; in Omsk – OOO “Retraks”.
A separate subdivision was set up in Nizhny Novgorod.
Construction of own manufacturing complex started in the town of Dubna.
A manufacturing site was set up in Tomilino near Moscow.
A major overhaul of the “ToMeZ” plant was performed
ZAO “Econatsprojekt” was established in order to implement joint environmental projects.
To supply modern waste disposal technologies to the Russian market, OOO “Techecoplasma” was established.
At “ToMeZ” plant, licensed manufacturing of equipment by the Danish company Epoke was launched.
A program to equip all manufactured vehicles with GLONASS/GPS systems to monitor operation of their technical equipment was launched.
ZAO “Cominvest-AKMT” became a member of the Nonprofit Partnership of “Manufacturers of Road-Building, Utility and Ground-Based Airdrome Machinery “Spetsavtoprom.”
Separate subdivisions (SS) with service centers were set up not only in cities with a million-plus population, but also in satellite towns, namely, Kaluga, Tula, Bryansk, Vologda, Veliky Novgorod and Yekaterinburg.
The subdivisions in Novosibirsk and Chelyabinsk were reorganized.
The modernization of the “ToMeZ” plant was completed.
The product range was extended to include a milling and rotary traction engine, a rotary snow plough based on the Kirovets tractor, a multipurpose road maintenance vehicle based on the KAMAZ and a series of other significant products.
The company’s own leasing company, “Partner Leasing”, was established.
A new service center was set up in Saint-Petersburg.
The website of Cominvest-AKMT was converted into a portal, so the vehicle selection became more convenient and informative thanks to the responsive design supporting every resolution of monitors, with enhanced functions – call back, service request, spare part ordering and technical support – helping the customers solve any encountered problems quickly and without delay.
A new business — combustion engine repairing — was set up in the city of Moscow, ready to deal with a vast number of engine brands, including: Cummins, Deutz, Perkins, Mercedes Benz, Caterpillar, VM Motory, John Deere, Lombardini, Toyota, Hyundai, KAMAZ, YaMZ, D-243/245.
